Não vou fazer juízos de valor acerca do filme. Acho que se gastou demasiada tinta com a polémica toda que esta história levantou, o que não é necessariamente mau, mas, pelo menos a mim, já chateia! Pronto, ok, eu digo: não me choca nada ver dois cowboys homossexuais.
Sobre o filme...
O Segredo de Brokeback Mountain foi nomeado para oito Óscares, mas só conseguiu ganhar três: Melhor Realizador (Ang Lee), Melhor Argumento Adaptado (Larry McMurtry e Diana Ossana) e Melhor Banda Sonora Original (Gustavo Santaolalla).

Segundo a Focus Features, distribuidora da longa metragem nos EUA, o proprietário "não cumpriu o acordo de licenciamento". Enquanto alguns activistas locais protestaram, considerando esta atitude "vergonhosa para o povo de Utah", o presidente do Fórum Conservador Utah Eagle aplaudiu a decisão. Gayle Ruzicka manifestou a sua satisfação pelo facto de o filme se manter afastado do público e, em especial, dos mais jovens.
